Discipleship
Purpose – Exploring together what it means for the parishioners of
Transfiguration to be disciples of Christ. Answer the question:
How do we follow in His footsteps in faithfulness and loving service
to others? Thereby cultivating parishioner participation in parish
ministries.
Work Underway
Transfiguration parishioners are called to be disciples, or
followers of Jesus. As part of our Advancing Christ Together
initiative, Tranny's "Discipleship Growth Team" is developing ways
that all of us can understand more clearly what it is to be a
disciple, and how we can grow in our discipleship through our
parish's programs.
Discipleship is expressed in many ways, through our daily prayer,
study of Scripture, even encouraging others in their faithful
living. It's how we make use of what God has given us, our personal
stewardship of time, talent, and treasure. Worshiping God through
the liturgy, participation in the Eucharist, and serving others in
Christian compassion are central to being the disciples Jesus wants
us to be!
In the months ahead, watch for a parish-wide celebration and
exploration of the call to discipleship. We pray to the Holy Spirit
for guidance and inspiration for our shared growth.
