Work Underway
The weekend of April 21 & 22, 2007 marked the beginning of an
exceptionally vital and exciting undertaking for Transfiguration
Parish. The Masses that weekend provided an opportunity for members
of our community to step forward and say “yes” to financial
stability and health for our parish through support for our Mission
Freedom Appeal.
This $2 million appeal will provide critical funding, making it
possible for the parish to:
-
Properly manage the next three years of mortgage payments
-
Pay off the balance of the line of credit
-
Establish a modest reserve fund for mortgage needs, and
-
Prepay, as we’re able, principle on the mortgage.
Since that time, we have experienced significant response and
through the generosity of many we have made significant progress
towards our goal. To date, we have received pledges totaling over
$955,000 from 24% of our parish membership. This puts us almost
half way to our goal and, knowing how important this appeal is to
the long-term financial health of our great parish, we will continue
to reach out and demonstrate the value of an investment in this
appeal to those in our membership who have chosen not to participate
but who have the financial ability to do so.
Members of Transfiguration can elect to participate at any time by
either completing a pledge card or by simply contacting the Parish
Office. Our next major outreach effort on behalf of the Mission
Freedom Appeal will be in conjunction with the annual stewardship
campaign later this fall. If you have any questions regarding this
appeal, please do not hesitate calling the Parish Office for further
information.
Give, and it will be given to you; a good measure, pressed down,
shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap.
For the measure you give will be the measure you get back!
